The property is located in a quite fortunate and convenient area, immersed in the green Tuscan hills, surrounded by olive groves close to Florence and Pisa airports, to the beaches of the Versilia Coast (Forte dei Marmi 30 min drive) and to the beautiful cities of Florence, Lucca, Pisa and Siena.
The Farmhouse facing south enjoys an excellent view of the Tuscan countryside, the land surrounding it has more than 800 olive trees which regularly produce 1000-1500 kg of extravergine oil.
The structure dates back to the second half of the seventeenth century and it was totally restored by a Swiss architect who made it its personal residence. The renovation was undertaken with immense attention to detail, maintain the original spirit of the construction in harmony with the environment, materials as wood, stone and bricks have been chosen with respect tothe age and location of the house.
The main house consists of 370 sqmt on two floors which are connected by an elevator. The ground floor is divided in 7 well-lit rooms : entrance, kitchen, dining room, living room, reading room, fireplace room/den, and a room already set to be turned into a second kitchen. First floor: 3 bedrooms, a study, 1 large bathroom, 2 other bathrooms, a small study with balcony. In addition, there is a large covered veranda, an outdoor pool 10 x 4 mt and a small green house for winter storage of plants. The property also consists of a two storey annex of 60 sqmt (originally a hayloft now used as a storage, a workroom and an olive oil storage) and deposit for garden and agriculture equipment and a garage.
The total covered surface is around 500 sqmt. The farmhouse has central heating with under-floor system, the temperature is adjustable in each room, the fireplace works extremely well and is connected to a wood oven. The drinking water is supplied by the municipal aqueduct, while the property well (more than 100 mt deep) satisfies the pool and watering demands.
The beautiful gardens host sculptures in the style of Alexander Calder with sympathetically interact with the elements, surrounded by an array of different flowers from jasmine to oleanders, lavender , roses…and fruit trees that decorate it. There is also a vegetable garden that meets all season’s needs.
Only the entrance gate of the property can be seen from the road and the main house is accessible through a private path (less than 100 mt) between the olive trees.
